Madeira is set to become even more accessible to people in the UK as there’ll be a 4.9% increase in weekly flights between October 2025 and March 2026 compared to the previous year.

The updated schedule means services will be rising, with new routes from Bournemouth and London Luton.

In Bournemouth, Jet2 will continue its weekly service to Madeira following a successful summer launch. In Luton, easyJet will operate twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Fridays, throughout the season, with Jet2 adding a weekly Monday departure.

This marks a major move towards greater connectivity from the UK, with London being the most predominant hub with services from Gatwick, Luton, and Stansted. It also comes at a time when the islands have a packed calendar, from the autumn Chestnut Festival to the Carnival in February.

Madeira UK flights: What is Madeira like in the Winter?

Madeira, which is just a three-and-a-half hour flight from London, is on the same latitude as Morocco and it enjoys a mild Winter season.

It has very mild average temperatures and moderate humidity during this season, with an average of 17 degrees celsius. For many, this will be the perfect weather for exploring and escaping the cold elsewhere.

Some popular activities during the winter months include hiking the famous levada trails, exploring, and enjoying the Christmas wonderland in Funchal.
