Hyatt House Manchester one bedroom suite, can see the sofa and TV then door leading into the bedroom.

As a remote worker and business traveler, there’s nothing worse than working away and being faced with a hotel room that has nothing more than a bed and the tiniest desk to make do with.

While it may not be everyone’s reality, having a place to work from when traveling for business is hugely beneficial.

It was on a recent trip to Manchester, in the northwest of England, where I had the chance to stay at Hyatt House. This hotel is housed in the same building as Hyatt Regency, with both being managed by the American hospitality company Hyatt Hotels Corporation.

Hyatt House is home to 116 studios and one-bedroom suites which make for the perfect location for longer stays or people traveling for business and working remotely.

The rates at Hyatt House start from £130 (roughly $162) per night, with members of the World of Hyatt loyalty program (free to join) able to enjoy discounted rates.

It truly felt like a home away from home, making remote working feel easy and motivating.

Working from Hyatt House in Manchester

I stayed on the 16th floor, in a one bedroom suite with a kitchenette (another bonus!). The kitchen was fully equipped, along with a Nespresso coffee maker, a dining area, 43” smart TV and complimentary Wi-Fi.

With 45 meters of space, this meant I had the choice to work from different areas throughout the suite and I loved how the bedroom was separated from the dining and living room.

This can really help to break up the day when working remotely and I found myself mainly working from the large table and then moving over to the living area.

For those looking for a little more, the hotel has seven meeting rooms located on a purpose-built floor which are equipped with advanced technology.

The Laureate Restaurant and The Graduate Bar, both of which are located on the bottom floor, are a great place to take clients too.

If you want to get out of your room to work, the bar area has several seating options which are suitable for working.

P.S. If you’re visiting on the first Thursday of the month, or are close-by, the restaurant hosts an all-you-can-eat curry night which includes family recipes from the team working at the hotel.

Staying at Hyatt House: Exploring the Area

The hotel also boasts a prime location within the city, as it’s located in the neighborhood of St. John’s which is known for its creativity and culture.

This was just a short walk away from the Manchester Museum which offers a handy respite when you’re in the middle of an intense work day. It reopened at the beginning of 2023, after a £15 million redevelopment.

The museum is free to everyone, with a cafe and picnic area to explore after visiting the exhibitions.

I explored the nearby Whitworth Art Gallery too which is part of the University of Manchester. The cafe has floor-to-ceiling windows which makes you feel as though you’re sitting in a glass box submerged in the middle of nature, with the gallery being set in a beautiful park.
