If you’ve ever wanted to stay in a pop star’s house, you may be in luck as AirBnB is offering people the chance to stay in Prince’s Purple Rain house through its new ‘Icons’ feature.

The offering is part of a new category of “extraordinary experiences hosted by the greatest names in music, film, television, art, sports, and more.”

The ‘Icons’ experiences have been running since it was launched in May, with people able to sign up to their choice of opportunity and be entered into a ballot-type system.

More than 4,000 tickets are being offered across the experiences for 2024, with lucky guests receiving a digital golden ticket when they are successful.

Alongside the Prince house, other opportunities have included a night at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello Italy, as well as a stay at Disney and Pixar’s Up house. A recreation of Carl’s home was completed for keen fans, complete with more than 8,000 balloons and has been situated in the red rocks of Abiquiu in New Mexico.

Chance to stay at Prince’s Purple Rain house will be available this month

For Prince fans though, the stay at the Purple Rain house will be the most iconic of all. This is the very house that the artist purchased in Minneapolis and featured in his film. It has never previously been open or available to the public, at least until now.

The chance to enter will come at some time in September, with a ‘Notify me’ button visible on the listing.

The description says: “For the first time ever, celebrate the life and music of our friend and The Revolution’s legendary frontman, Prince, by staying at the actual Purple Rain house from the film.

“Enjoy an intimate tour, groove to some rare Prince songs and get some sleep in The Kid’s bedroom. Wear your finest purple fits, and when you step into history, feel free to unleash your royal rockstar. Stay tuned.”

It’s not yet known when the listing will be available to enter, but fans should keep an eye out if they want the opportunity to peek into Prince’s world.
