After a vote from over 186,000 people, the number one hotel in Europe has been named for 2024 and it received a near-perfect score of 99.33 out of 100.

The results come in from the publisher Travel and Leisure who holds ‘World’s Best’ awards for a number of categories. Spanning rooms, facilities, location, service, food, and value, each person has voted with their ratings and the averages have then been calculated.

The Gran Hotel Mas d’en Bruno in the quiet area of Priorat in Spain has earned the esteemed position against its European counterparts. It ranked 6th in the world, according to the verdict of readers of the magazine.

One voter explained why they believe the hotel is one of the best: “They are making amazing meals, with the best products the region has to offer, without being pretentious.”

Another told the travel magazine about the “beautiful views and utter peace and quiet” that the hotel offers.

The Gran Hotel Mas d’en Bruno ranked as best hotel in Europe

It’s a fairly new hotel too, having only opened in May of 2023 but it has already been dubbed as one of the most luxurious stays in the wine region of Priorat in Spain.

It’s set on a historic estate in the heart of the area and is known as a full-service hotel, with just 24 suites available. On its website, the hotel is described as being the “ideal place to disconnect and enjoy an exclusive getaway, surrounded by mountains, vineyards and quaint hilltop villages.”

The hotel is home to ‘Vinum,’ the main restaurant which offers ‘a complete gastronomic experience’ and is located in the main building. It’s there that guests can enjoy three varieties of tasting menus, as well as  à la carte dishes.

There is also the poolside restaurant ‘Tarraco’ which offers a luxurious dining experience but in a more relaxed atmosphere on its sunlit terrace. Then, for those who are looking for a cocktail or glass of wine before dining, they can head to ‘Bruno’s Bar.’

The hotel boasts a spa too, alongside its beautiful infinity pool which sits between the two buildings.
