The Amsterdam-based boutique hotel group Sir Hotels has officially opened its doors to the all-new Sir Devonshire Square hotel in East London, with a members club to follow at a later date.

The four-star hotel is home to 81 rooms, including 14 suites, and is housed within a restored 17th century textile warehouse. It sits between Spitalfields Market and the business district of The City of London.

The rooms look onto Devonshire Square and the London skyline, with these having been described as ‘offering a quiet retreat above the dynamic centre of East London.’

The offering has opened with an all-day dining contest which is open to both hotel guests and members of the public, with the restaurant serving contemporary easy plates from breakfast through to evening.

Sir Devonshire Square Hotel’s extra facilities will ‘open in phases’

The hotel plans to open additional facilities in phases which will include The Cover, Sircle Collection’s private members’ club. The main restaurant is set to follow at a later date too.

Other plans include an in-house gym which the hotel is finalising plans for. While this hasn’t yet come to fruition, a local fitness partner will be providing complimentary access for guests of the hotel.

“We’re so proud to offer something truly distinctive in London. Sir Devonshire Square combines the intimacy of a boutique hotel with a strong connection to our East London creative spirit, with the refined design and comfort Sir Hotels is known for,” said Mark Jonathan Heyburn, General Manager of Sir Devonshire Square.

The hotel group’s private members club ‘The Cover’ was first announced in Barcelona, with it being for ‘entrepreneurs, innovators and the culturally curious.’

“The club’s philosophy is to enrich member’s lives in three key areas: business, wellbeing and community,” the original Barcelona-focused announcement said. The same news release shared that once people had been accepted to The Clover, they would then have full access to benefits at all club locations.
