A new theme park inspired by the region’s subtropical rainforests is set to open its doors in Okinawa, Japan, this July.
‘Junglia Okinawa’ is set on the site of a former golf course and aims to offer a blend of thrill-seeking rides, luxury experiences and immersive activities that focus on its natural surroundings.
Speaking of, the park will be in the Yanbaru Forest area which is based in the north of Okinawa’s main island. The forest is known for having an incredible array of natural beauty from limestone mountains to mangroves and evergreen forests.
The Junglia Okinawa will open for the first time on July 25.
What will be at the Junglia Okinawa nature-immersive Japan theme park?
According to a press release, “stand-out attractions will include a gas-balloon ride” where guests are able to take in a 360-degree view of the forest.
A dinosaur safari will take passengers through the savannah to meet the park’s prehistoric inhabitants and there’ll be a tree-top trekking experience for those looking for the thrill of experiencing a jungle suspension bridge.
For those looking for something on the ground, there will be a spa on site featuring outdoor infinity pools, a calcium bath, cave bath, natural hot springs and sauna.
How to get to Junglia Okinawa in Japan
The closest airport to the theme park is Naha and the park is 1.5 hours north of this. It’s easiest to visit by car, with the company offering parking on site and shuttle buses to be in operation from partner hotels.
