For the first time in 25 years, a new theme park (Universal Epic Universe) will open its doors in Orlando – the home of the theme parks.
It’s on May 22 when the highly anticipated Universal Epic Universe will officially open, with the expansive park featuring over 50 attractions across five worlds.
The park is the recent addition in Universal Orlando Resort’s line up, with its other destinations including Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay.
It will be the newest park in the portfolio as the others have been around for decades and have already cemented themselves as key go-to spots.
What is the Universal Epic Universe park in Orlando?
Described as having ‘started as a doodle on a napkin nearly a decade ago,’ the Universal Epic Universe park is said to be inspired by the heavens, stars and constellations.
It has been built on 750 acres of land and is just a few miles away from the other three parks by the brand. There will be complimentary transportation connecting the entire Universal parks.
“Epic is the future meeting the present,” says Gabriela Lander on the Discover Universal website, director of Facility Design for Universal Creative.
“We’ll have a park where we’ll be able to walk through nature and be guided by the stars, surrounded by iconic elements that materialize dreams into immersive worlds of epic stories, and with a level of technology that will take the experience to a new level,” she adds.
What are the five worlds at the park?
The park is made up of five different worlds which are all connected through Celestial Park. This is the first world visitors will experience when they walk through the Emerald Gate and the ‘Chronos device.’
The worlds at Universal Epic Universe include:
- Celestial Park
- The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic
- SUPER NINTENDO WORLD
- How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk
- Dark Universe
Alongside the park, three hotels will open. These include the Universal Helios Grand Hotel, Universal Stella Nova Resort, and the Universal Terra Luna Resort.
